Don Imus is an American radio personality, comedian, and author. He is the host of The Imus in the Morning radio program, which is syndicated nationally by Cumulus Media Networks. The program airs on more than 60 radio stations in the United States, as well as on the American Forces Radio Network.

Imus was born in Riverside, California, on July 23, 1940. His parents were John Donald Imus Sr., a stockbroker, and Frances E. (née Franks) Imus. He has two older brothers, Fred and John Jr., and two younger sisters, Frances and Elizabeth. Imus was raised in a Methodist household.
Imus attended Riverside Polytechnic High School, where he played football and was a member of the track team. He graduated from high school in 1958.
Imus began his broadcasting career while still in high school, working as a disc jockey at a local radio station. He attended Rancho Alamitos Community College for one semester before dropping out to focus on his radio career.
In 1968, Imus launched his morning radio show, The Imus in the Morning, on WNBC in New York City. The show quickly became popular, and in 1971 it was syndicated nationally.
In the 1980s, Imus became known for his controversial humor, which often included racial and ethnic slurs. In 1988, he was fired from WNBC after making racist and sexist remarks on the air.
Imus returned to radio in December 1996 with a new morning show on WABC in New York City. The show was later syndicated nationally by ABC Radio Networks.
In April 2007, Imus was diagnosed with stage 2 prostate cancer. He underwent surgery to remove his prostate gland and underwent radiation therapy. In December 2007, Imus announced that he was cancer-free.
In October 2008, Imus was inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame.

Imus has been married three times. His first marriage, to Harriet Showalter, ended in divorce in 1979. He married his second wife, Deirdre Coleman, in 1994. The couple divorced in 2009. Imus married his third wife, Mika Brzezinski, in May 2018.
