Lewis was born on October 14, 1974 in London, England. Her parents are of Jamaican descent. She has two older sisters. Lewis was educated at the Sylvia Young Theatre School.
Lewis’ career began when she met Melanie Blatt and Nicole Appleton in 1993. The three girls formed the group All Saints and signed with London Records in 1996. The group’s debut album, “All Saints”, was released in 1997 and was a huge success. It sold over 4 million copies in the UK and was certified 4x platinum. The album’s lead single, “Never Ever”, was a massive hit, spending eight weeks at number one on the UK charts.
All Saints’ second album, “Saints & Sinners”, was released in 2000. It was another huge success, selling over 8 million copies worldwide. The album’s lead single, “Pure Shores”, was another number one hit in the UK.
In 2006, Lewis released her debut solo album, “Open”. The album was not as successful as her work with All Saints, but still managed to peak at number five on the UK charts.
Lewis has also appeared in a few films and television shows. She had a small role in the film “Mean Machine” (2001) and appeared in an episode of the TV show “Sugar Rush” (2005).
