Doug Tracht (born December 1, 1949) is an American radio personality. He is best known for his morning show on WMZQ in Washington, D.C., which he co-hosted with John Garziglia from 1984 to 2004.
Tracht was born in New York City and raised on Long Island. His father was a doctor and his mother was a homemaker. He has two older sisters. Tracht attended the University of Maryland, where he studied broadcasting.
Tracht’s career in radio began in 1974 at WWDC in Washington, D.C. He later worked at WMAL and WAVA before joining WMZQ in 1984. Tracht’s show with Garziglia was popular with listeners and won several awards, including the Marconi Award for Major Market Personality of the Year in 1999.
In 2004, Tracht was fired from WMZQ after making a racist remark on the air. He later apologized for the remark and said that it was meant as a joke.
Tracht has been married twice. His first marriage ended in divorce. He has two children from his second marriage.
