Gould was born in Southampton, England on November 11, 1994. He has an older sister named Sophie. His parents divorced when he was young and he was raised by his mother. Gould began playing guitar when he was 13 years old. He was influenced by punk rock and metal music.

Gould attended college for a year before dropping out to pursue a career in music. He joined Creeper in 2014. The band released their debut album, Eternity, in 2017. The album was a critical and commercial success. It peaked at number 3 on the UK Albums Chart and was nominated for a Kerrang! Award for Best Album.

Gould has been in a relationship with singer Hannah Greenwood since 2015. The couple has two children together.
