Zachery Ty Bryan (born October 9, 1981) is an American actor and producer. He is best known for his role as Brad Taylor on the ABC sitcom Home Improvement (1991–1999). He has also appeared in several films and television movies throughout his career.
Bryan was born in Aurora, Colorado, the son of Jenny (née Jones), a homemaker, and Ty Bryan, a custom home builder. He has two brothers, Tanner and Travis, and a sister, Jordan. Bryan is of English, German, Irish, and Welsh descent. He attended Centennial High School in Aurora.
Bryan’s first acting role was as a guest star on the television series Touched by an Angel in 1994. He made his film debut in the 1996 direct-to-video release of Kicking & Screaming, starring Will Ferrell. Bryan’s next film role was in the 1997 direct-to-video release of I Know What You Did Last Summer, based on the novel by Lois Duncan.
In 1998, Bryan starred opposite Jennifer Love Hewitt and Sarah Michelle Gellar in the horror film I Still Know What You Did Last Summer. The following year, he co-starred with Mark Wahlberg in the action film The Big Hit. In 2000, Bryan starred opposite Melissa Joan Hart in the television movie Sabrina, Down Under.
From 1991 to 1999, Bryan starred as Brad Taylor on the ABC sitcom Home Improvement. After the series ended, Bryan appeared in a number of films and television movies, including the direct-to-video release of Old School in 2003 and the television movie The Game of Their Lives in 2005. He also had a recurring role on the CBS drama CSI: Miami from 2002 to 2004.
In 2007, Bryan co-starred with Steve Zahn and Milla Jovovich in the horror comedy 30 Days of Night. The following year, he co-starred with Jenna Elfman and Thomas Gibson in the comedy film Keeping Up with the Steins. In 2009, Bryan starred opposite Nicolas Cage in the science fiction thriller Knowing.
Bryan has also produced several films and television series, including the reality series Crash Test World (2013) and the documentary film Untitled Zachary Ty Bryan Project (2017).
Bryan married Carly Matros in 2007. The couple have three children together: Gemma Rae (born 2010), Ryder Lee (born 2012), and Pierce Alexander (born 2014). Bryan and Matros divorced in 2015.
