Shepard Smith, born on 14th January 1964, is an American television news anchor. He is the former host of Fox Report with Shepard Smith and Studio B. Currently, he is the managing editor of the breaking news division of Fox News and also anchors the evening newscast, The Fox Report.

Early life and education: Shepard Smith was born in Holly Springs, Mississippi. His father was a cotton merchant and his mother was a schoolteacher. He has two older brothers. He attended Marshall Academy, a private school in Holly Springs. He then went on to study at the University of Mississippi where he majored in journalism.

Career: After graduation, Shepard Smith began his career as a reporter for a local television station in Miami, Florida. He then moved to Los Angeles to work as a reporter for KCBS-TV. In 1996, he joined Fox News as a correspondent. In 1999, he became the host of Fox Report with Shepard Smith. In 2002, he began hosting Studio B. In 2007, he became the managing editor of the breaking news division of Fox News. In 2013, he began anchoring the evening newscast, The Fox Report.

He was also one of only two television correspondents to witness the execution of Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh in June of 2001.
