Mick Avory is an English drummer and member of the rock band The Kinks. He was born Michael Charles Avory in London, England on February 15, 1944. His parents were both professional musicians. His father was a jazz trumpeter and his mother was a singer. Avory began playing drums at the age of 12.
He attended art school and then joined The Kinks in 1964. He played on all of their albums from 1964 to 1984. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990. Avory has a net worth of $5 million.
