Mark Hudson (born October 14, 1978) is an American former professional soccer player who played as a defender. He is currently the head coach of the MLS club Colorado Rapids.
Hudson was born in Baltimore, Maryland and raised in Ellicott City, Maryland. He attended Howard High School where he played on the varsity soccer team. Hudson played college soccer at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County from 1997 to 2000. He was named the America East Defensive Player of the Year as a senior in 2000.
Hudson began his professional career with the Major League Soccer club D.C. United in 2001. He made 14 appearances for the club before being traded to the Colorado Rapids in 2002. Hudson spent two seasons with the Rapids, making 34 appearances. He was traded to the New York Red Bulls in 2004 and spent four seasons with the club, making 103 appearances. Hudson was named captain of the Red Bulls in 2007.
In 2009, Hudson signed with English Premier League club Fulham. He made 12 appearances for Fulham before being loaned to Championship club Hull City in 2010. Hudson made 27 appearances for Hull City and helped the club win promotion to the Premier League. He returned to Fulham for the 2010-11 season and made four appearances.
Hudson signed with MLS expansion club Vancouver Whitecaps FC in 2011. He made 27 appearances for the Whitecaps before being traded to the San Jose Earthquakes in 2012. Hudson made 18 appearances for the Earthquakes before retiring from professional soccer in 2013.
Hudson began his coaching career with the New York Red Bulls II in 2015. He was named head coach of the MLS club Colorado Rapids in 2019.
Hudson has earned one cap for the United States national team. He was a member of the U.S. team at the 2003 FIFA Confederations Cup.
Hudson is married to his wife, Brooke. The couple has two children together.
