Mark Benton is an English actor, known for his roles in the films Calendar Girls and Early Doors, and the television series Waterloo Road, Casualty and Northern Lights.

Benton was born in Bradford, West Yorkshire, on 21 December 1964, the son of an engineer. He was educated at Bradford Grammar School and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
Benton’s first television role was in the sitcom Men of the World in 1992. He has since appeared in numerous television programmes, including Casualty, The Bill, Holby City, Doctors, Waterloo Road, Early Doors and Northern Lights. He played the role of Eddie Windass in Coronation Street from 2009 to 2010.
Benton has also appeared in the films Calendar Girls (2003), Shaun of the Dead (2004) and The History Boys (2006).
In 2012, Benton took part in the ninth series of Strictly Come Dancing, partnered with Natalie Lowe. They were eliminated in week nine.
