Gabrielle Reece (born January 6, 1970) is an American professional volleyball player, sports commentator, fashion model, and actress. She is 6 feet 3 inches (1.91 m) tall, and her vertical jump was once measured at 45 inches (114 cm). She is considered one of the best female volleyball players of all time.

Reece was born in La Jolla, California, the daughter of Barbara (née Alba) and George Reece. Her father was of English and Irish descent, and her mother was of Mexican ancestry. Reece has two older sisters, Tracy and Kim. She was raised in Santa Barbara, California, and began playing volleyball at the age of eight.

Reece attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where she played on the women’s volleyball team. She was a member of the USA Volleyball team that won the bronze medal at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. She was named the Most Valuable Player of the 1995 World Grand Prix.

Reece’s professional career began in 1996, when she signed a two-year contract with the Italian team Asystel Volley Novara. In 1998, she returned to the United States and played for the Long Beach Stingrays of the now-defunct American Volleyball League (AVL).

Reece has appeared on the cover of magazines such as Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, Shape, and Fitness. She has also appeared in television shows such as Baywatch and Celebrity Fit Club.

In 2000, Reece married Laird Hamilton, a professional surfer. The couple have two daughters: Reece Viola Hamilton (born 2003) and Brody Jo Hamilton (born 2008).

Reece is a spokesperson for Nike, Inc., and has her own line of fitness equipment and apparel. She has also written three books: My Foot Is Too Big for the Glass Slipper: A Guide to the Less Than Perfect Life (2001), Big Girl in the Middle (2003), and Dispatches from the Front Lines of Beauty (2005).
