Calen Carr is a former American soccer player who played as a forward for the Houston Dynamo and the Chicago Fire in Major League Soccer. He was born on October 5, 1984 in Fremont, California, to parents of Irish and Mexican descent. Carr began playing soccer at an early age and played for various youth clubs in the Bay Area. He attended De La Salle High School in Concord, California, where he was a three-time All-American. Carr played college soccer at the University of California, Berkeley, where he was named the Pac-10 Player of the Year as a junior. He was drafted by the Houston Dynamo in the 2007 MLS SuperDraft and went on to score 12 goals in his first two seasons with the club. Carr was traded to the Chicago Fire in 2009 and helped the team win the MLS Cup in his first season with the club. He scored the winning goal in the final against the New England Revolution. Carr retired from soccer in 2014 due to injuries. He currently works as a soccer analyst for ESPN.
