William “Bill” Paxton was born on May 17, 1955 in Fort Worth, Texas. His father, John Paxton, was a businessman and his mother, Mary Lou Paxton, was a homemaker. He had two older brothers, Brad and Doug. Paxton was raised in a strict Catholic household. He attended Arlington Heights High School, where he was a member of the drama club. After graduation, he studied at the University of Texas at Austin. He dropped out after one semester to pursue a career in acting.
Paxton began his acting career in the 1970s. He appeared in a number of films, including The Terminator (1984), Aliens (1986), and Titanic (1997).
