Bart Conner (born March 28, 1958) is an American former gymnast, Olympic gold medalist, and current co-owner of the Oklahoma City-based Bart Conner Gymnastics Academy. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Rita, a housewife, and Paul Conner, a dentist. He has three sisters: Jody, Nancy and Cindy. Conner first began taking gymnastics classes at age six at a local YMCA. He competed in his first gymnastics meet in 1966, when he was eight years old.

Conner won his first national championship in 1977, becoming the American all-around champion. He went on to win the all-around title again in 1979 and 1981. He was a member of the United States men’s gymnastics team at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, where he won a gold medal in the team competition. Conner was also the bronze medalist in the individual all-around competition, becoming the first American man to medal in the all-around at the Olympic Games.

Conner retired from competitive gymnastics in 1984. He subsequently opened the Bart Conner Gymnastics Academy in Norman, Oklahoma, where he has coached numerous national and international champions. In 1990, Conner married Romanian Olympic gymnast Nadia Comăneci, with whom he has two children: Dylan Paul (born 2006) and Olivia Nadia (born 2010).

Conner’s net worth is estimated to be $5 million. He earns a salary of $200 thousand per year from his gymnastics academy, and also receives income from his endorsement deals with companies such as Adidas and GK Elite Sportswear.
