Bae Doona is a South Korean actress and model. She is best known for her roles in the films The Host and Cloud Atlas, and the television series Sense8.

Bae was born in Suwon, South Korea, on October 11, 1979. Her father, Bae Jong-heon, is a professor of Korean literature, and her mother, Kim Jong-hee, is a homemaker. She has a younger brother, Bae Doo-han. Bae graduated from Konkuk University with a degree in theater in 2001.

Bae began her career as a model, appearing in various commercials and magazine ads. She made her acting debut in the 2000 film The Ring Virus. She has since appeared in a number of films and television series, including The Host (2006), Cloud Atlas (2012), Sense8 (2015-2018), and The Wailing (2016).

Bae has won several awards for her work, including the Best Actress award at the 2006 Blue Dragon Film Awards and the Best Supporting Actress award at the 2015 Baeksang Arts Awards.
