Trey Gunn is an American musician, composer and producer, best known as a member of the progressive rock band King Crimson. He has also worked with other artists such as Robert Fripp, David Sylvian, Peter Gabriel and Tool.
Born in Houston, Texas, Gunn began playing the violin at age five. He later took up the electric bass and began playing in rock bands in high school. He attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he studied classical music and composition. After graduation, he moved to New York City to pursue a career in music.
Gunn joined King Crimson in 1994, replacing bassist Tony Levin. He has appeared on all of the band’s studio albums since then, and has also toured with them extensively. He has also released several solo albums, and has composed music for film and television.
Gunn’s net worth is estimated to be $5 million. He has been married twice, first to actress Marisa Tomei from 2003 to 2008, and then to artist Kate Bush from 2011 to present. He has two children from his first marriage.
