Tiffany was born Tiffany Renee Darwish on October 2, 1971, in Norwalk, Connecticut, to parents James Charles Darwish and Marjorie Mae (née Cochran) Darwish. She has two older brothers, Jeffrey and Michael. Tiffany’s parents divorced when she was two years old and she was raised by her mother. Tiffany continued to pursue her singing and acting career, appearing in a number of commercials and television shows. In 1986, she was signed to a recording contract with MCA Records and released her self-titled debut album the following year. The album’s first single, “I Think We’re Alone Now,” became a number-one hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
