Steve Stricker (born February 23, 1967) is an American professional golfer who currently plays on the PGA Tour. He has won 12 times on the Tour, including the Players Championship in 2001 and two FedEx Cup events. He has also represented the United States in four Ryder Cup matches (2008, 2010, 2012, 2016) and was the captain of the U.S. team in 2020.

Stricker was born in Edgerton, Wisconsin. His father, Allan, was a high school basketball coach and his mother, Jean, was a schoolteacher. Stricker has two sisters, Cindy and Jill. He graduated from Edgerton High School in 1985 and then attended the University of Illinois on a golf scholarship. He turned professional in 1989 and played on mini-tours until he earned his PGA Tour card in 1994.
Stricker’s first Tour win came at the 1996 Honda Classic. He would go on to win 11 more times over the next decade, including the Players Championship in 2001 and two FedEx Cup events. He also represented the United States in four Ryder Cup matches (2008, 2010, 2012, 2016) and was the captain of the U.S. team in 2020.
Stricker’s wife, Nicki, is also a professional golfer. They have two children together, Bobbi and Jake. Stricker currently resides in Madison, Wisconsin.
