Robin Givens is an American actress and model. She was born on November 27, 1964 in New York City, New York, United States. Her father, Reuben Givens, was a successful businessman and her mother, Ruth Newell, was a model and actress. She has two sisters, Stephanie and Ashley. She attended the prestigious Spence School in New York City and graduated from Sarah Lawrence College.
Givens began her career as a model, appearing in magazines such as Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar. She made her acting debut in the television film The Face of Rage (1983). She went on to appear in a number of films and television shows, including the sitcom Head of the Class (1986-1991), the soap opera Generations (1989-1991) and the drama series Beverly Hills, 90210 (1991-1992).
Givens’ most famous role was as Darlene Merriman in the sitcom Tyler Perry’s House of Payne (2006-2012). She has also appeared in the films A Rage in Harlem (1991), Boomerang (1992) and Nothing to Lose (1997).
Givens has been married twice, first to tennis player Andy Roddick and then to actor Brad Pitt. She has two children from her first marriage, a son named Tyson and a daughter named Blake.
