Michael LeMoyne Kennedy (born February 27, 1958) is an American businessman, lawyer, and author. He is the seventh child of Robert F. Kennedy and Ethel Kennedy.
Early life and education
Michael LeMoyne Kennedy was born in Washington, D.C., on February 27, 1958, the seventh child of Robert F. Kennedy and Ethel Kennedy. He was named after his uncle, Michael Kennedy, who was killed in a skiing accident in 1997.
Kennedy graduated from Harvard University in 1981 with a degree in American history. He then attended the University of Virginia School of Law, graduating in 1984.

After law school, Kennedy worked as a prosecutor in the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. He then went into private practice, working as a lawyer for various companies and organizations.
In 1991, Kennedy co-founded Citizens Energy Corporation, a non-profit energy company. The company provides low-cost heating oil to low-income families in the Northeast United States.
In 1995, Kennedy co-founded Reaching Up, a non-profit organization that provides job training and education to low-income people.
In 2003, Kennedy wrote a book about his father, titled Make Gentle the Life of This World: The Vision of Robert F. Kennedy and the Words That Inspired Him.
In 2009, Kennedy co-founded the RFK Center for Justice and Human Rights, an organization that works to advance human rights around the world.
In 2013, Kennedy published a book about his uncle, President John F. Kennedy, titled Why England Slept.
Personal Life
Kennedy has been married three times. His first marriage was to Victoria Gifford, the daughter of television personality Frank Gifford, in 1981. The couple had two children before divorcing in 1990.
Kennedy’s second marriage was to Sheila Rauch, a political consultant, in 1992. The couple had three children before divorcing in 2010.
Kennedy’s third marriage is to Kym Gold, a jewelry designer, which began in 2014. The couple has one child together.
Kennedy has also been involved in several high-profile relationships. In the early 1990s, he dated Madonna for several months. In 1998, he had a much-publicized affair with his father’s former assistant, Mimi Alford.
