Michael Caton is an Australian actor, best known for his role as Uncle Harry in The Sullivans and as Darryl Kerrigan in The Castle.
Born in Sydney, New South Wales, on 15 October 1942, Caton was the youngest of three children. His father was a driver and his mother was a domestic worker. He left school at the age of 15 to work as a jockey and then as a butcher before becoming an actor.
Caton made his acting debut in the 1971 film Sunday Too Far Away. He went on to appear in a number of Australian films and television series, including The Sullivans, The Paul Hogan Show, Prisoner, and The Castle.
In addition to his work as an actor, Caton has also been a regular panelist on the ABC’s Spicks and Specks and a guest host on Have You Been Paying Attention?
Caton has been married twice. His first marriage was to actress Jane Clifton, with whom he has two children. His second marriage is to actress Robyn Nevin, with whom he has one child.
