Macon was born in San Francisco, California, on October 12, 1975. His parents are Mary and John McCalman. He has two brothers, Michael and Matthew.
Macon attended high school in San Francisco. He then went on to study business at the University of California, Berkeley.
After graduation, McCalman worked in the online marketing department of a company called Webvan. He then co-founded Zappos.com with Nick Swinmurn in 1999.
Zappos.com was an online retailer of shoes and clothing. It was acquired by Amazon.com in 2009 for $1.2 billion.
Macon McCalman has an estimated net worth of $250 million. He is married to Emily McCalman and they have three children together.
