Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs is an American actor, singer, and songwriter. He is best known for his role as Freddie “Boom Boom” Washington in the 1974 film Claudine, and as Cochise in the 1980s television series Welcome Back, Kotter.

Born in New York City, Hilton-Jacobs was raised in The Bronx. His father was a jazz musician, and his mother was a homemaker. He has two older sisters. Hilton-Jacobs attended the High School of Performing Arts, where he studied acting.
Hilton-Jacobs made his film debut in Claudine (1974), for which he received a Golden Globe nomination for New Star of the Year. He went on to appear in such films as Car Wash (1976), The Jacksons: An American Dream (1992), and Menace II Society (1993).
On television, Hilton-Jacobs had a regular role on the sitcom Welcome Back, Kotter (1975-1979) as Cochise. He also appeared on such shows as The Love Boat, Miami Vice, and L.A. Law.
In recent years, Hilton-Jacobs has appeared in the films First Sunday (2008) and Think Like a Man (2012). He also had a recurring role on the television series The Young and the Restless (2012-2013).
Hilton-Jacobs has been married three times. He has four children.
