Krishnan Guru-Murthy is a British television journalist and news presenter. He is best known for his work on Channel 4 News, where he has been a main presenter since 1998.
Born in London in 1970, Guru-Murthy was educated at Dulwich College and Balliol College, Oxford, where he studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics. He began his career in journalism as a reporter for the BBC’s Newsnight programme. He then moved to Channel 4 News, where he has been a main presenter since 1998.
Guru-Murthy has reported on a wide range of stories during his career, including the 9/11 attacks, the Iraq War, the 7/7 bombings and the financial crisis. He has also interviewed a number of high-profile figures, including Tony Blair, Gordon Brown, Nelson Mandela and Barack Obama.
In addition to his work on Channel 4 News, Guru-Murthy is also a regular contributor to The Guardian newspaper. He has written a number of books, including a biography of the former British Prime Minister Harold Wilson.
Guru-Murthy is married to the television producer Rupa Jogani. They have two children.
