She started her career as a model. She has appeared in magazines such as Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and Cosmopolitan. She has also appeared in commercials for products such as L’Oréal, Maybelline and Clairol. She made her film debut in the 1981 film Private Benjamin.

She has also appeared in the films Airplane!, Lost in America, What About Bob?, Wayne’s World and The Brady Bunch Movie. She has been married to actor John Cusack since 1999. They have two children, Dylan and Miles. ..

She was also cast by Rene in the next play at the same theater and was seen in it and immediately signed for Airplane! (1980).
8Once romantically involved with director/choreographer Bob Fosse, she was cast in a small role in his film All That Jazz (1979). Her role ended up on the cutting room floor.
