Jahn Teigen (born January 26, 1947) is a Norwegian singer, songwriter and actor. He represented Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest 1978 with the song “Mil etter mil”, and finished in last place with zero points. He is widely considered one of Norway’s most popular and beloved entertainers, and has been active in the Norwegian music scene since the early 1970s.
Teigen was born in Oslo, Norway, the son of Rolf and Inger Teigen. He grew up in the neighborhood of Grønland in Oslo. He has two older sisters, Inger and Ragnhild.
Teigen’s career began in the early 1970s as a member of the pop group Popol Ace. The group had several hits in Norway, including “Det er en vakker dag” and “Kjære John”.
In 1978, Teigen represented Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Mil etter mil”. The song finished last with zero points, but Teigen’s performance was widely praised.
After Eurovision, Teigen continued to release music as a solo artist. He has released 13 studio albums, the most recent being “Når vi danser” in 2014. He has also appeared in several films and television shows.
Teigen has been married three times. His first marriage was to Grethe Kausland, with whom he has two daughters, Marte and Maren. His second marriage was to Anne Grete Preus, with whom he has a son, Andreas. His third marriage is to Marit Larsen, with whom he has a daughter, Emma.
