Hugo Rumbold (born October 28, 1988) is a British actor, writer and director. He is best known for his work on the stage and screen.
Rumbold was born in London, England, the son of actress Kate Rumbold and writer/director Richard Rumbold. He has two older sisters, Emma and Sarah. Rumbold was educated at St Paul’s School, London and the University of Bristol, where he studied drama.
Rumbold’s acting career began with a role in the play “The History Boys” at the National Theatre, London. He has since appeared in numerous stage productions, including “Romeo and Juliet” (2010) and “The Tempest” (2011). He made his film debut in “Anonymous” (2011) and has since appeared in “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” (2012) and “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies” (2014). Rumbold has also directed two short films, “The First Time” (2012) and “The Second Time” (2013).
