Gina Mastrogiacomo was born on Long Island, New York, on October 1, 1961. Her parents were both Italian immigrants. Gina was the oldest of three children. She has two younger brothers, Angelo and Salvatore. Gina’s father worked as a carpenter and her mother was a homemaker.
Gina attended public schools on Long Island. She was a good student and was active in sports and other extracurricular activities. After high school, Gina attended college for a year, but then decided to pursue a career in acting.
Gina’s first acting role was in the film “Raging Bull” (1980), in which she played the girlfriend of Robert De Niro’s character, Jake LaMotta. After “Raging Bull”, Gina appeared in a number of films and television shows. Some of her more notable roles were in the films “Once Upon a Time in America” (1984), “The Godfather: Part III” (1990), and “Casino” (1995).
In 1998, Gina Mastrogiacomo starred in the Broadway play “Side Man”. The play was a huge success and won several Tony Awards, including Best Play.
