Fernanda Tavares (born October 22, 1980) is a Brazilian supermodel. Tavares was born in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil, to a family of Portuguese descent. She has two sisters, Fabiana and Fernanda. Tavares began her modeling career at the age of 14, when she was discovered by a local agency. She soon moved to São Paulo, where she signed with Elite Model Management.
Tavares has appeared on the covers of Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, and Marie Claire, among others. She has also appeared in campaigns for Givenchy, Dolce & Gabbana, Escada, Oscar de la Renta, Valentino, and Gucci.
In 2002, Tavares was named one of the “50 Most Beautiful People” by People magazine.
Tavares is married to French businessman Olivier Martinez. The couple have two sons together: Marcel (born 2009) and Pierre (born 2010).
She was selected to be a Victoria's Secret model, and was one of the models at the renowned 2000 fashion show in Cannes, along with fellow models Alessandra Ambrosio, Adriana Lima, Gisele Bundchen, Carmen Kass and Angela Lindvall. She also modeled for the company's Swimsuit Edition catalog in 2000.
