Denny Laine is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist best known for his work with the rock band Wings. He was born in Birmingham, England on October 29, 1944. His father was a professional musician, and his mother was a homemaker. He has two older sisters. Laine was educated at Birmingham Central Technical College.
He began his musical career playing in various local bands in the early 1960s. In 1966, he joined the Moody Blues, with whom he recorded two albums. He left the band in 1968 to form Wings with Paul McCartney. The band achieved great success in the 1970s, releasing a string of hit singles and albums.
