Darryl M. Bell is an American actor. He is best known for his role as Ron Johnson, Jr. on the NBC sitcom A Different World.
Bell was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 13, 1964. His parents are Darryl and Marilyn Bell. He has two sisters, Dionne and Nicole. Bell was educated at the prestigious St. Ignatius College Prep high school. He then attended Northwestern University, where he majored in communications.
Bell’s acting career began in 1987 with a guest appearance on the television show 227. He then had a recurring role on the NBC sitcom A Different World, which ran from 1987 to 1993. After the show ended, Bell appeared in a number of films and television shows, including The Cosby Show, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and Living Single. He also had a recurring role on the HBO series Oz.
In recent years, Bell has appeared in the films Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Big Happy Family and Think Like a Man Too. He also had a recurring role on the television series Survivor’s Remorse.
Bell has been married to actress Tisha Campbell-Martin since 1996. The couple has two children together.
