Chris Pontius is an American actor, comedian, producer, and writer. He is best known for his work on the MTV series Jackass and Wildboyz.

Pontius was born in Pasadena, California, on July 16, 1974. He is the son of Jayne (née Mansfield) and Eugene Pontius. His father was a high school teacher and his mother was a homemaker. He has two sisters, Julie and Melissa. Pontius was raised in a Catholic household.

Pontius attended Pasadena High School, where he played football and basketball. He graduated from high school in 1992. Pontius then attended the University of California, Santa Cruz, where he studied film and video. He graduated from UC Santa Cruz in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in film and video.

Pontius began his career as a professional skateboarder. He appeared in the skateboarding video Thrashin’ (1986) and the skateboarding documentary Dogtown and Z-Boys (2001). He then transitioned into acting, appearing in the films Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle (2003) and Grind (2003).

In 2006, Pontius joined the cast of the MTV series Jackass. He appeared in all three Jackass movies: Jackass: The Movie (2002), Jackass Number Two (2006), and Jackass 3D (2010). He also starred in the spin-off series Wildboyz (2003-2006).

Pontius has also appeared in a number of other films and television series, including The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning (2007), We’re the Millers (2013), and Eastbound & Down (2009-2013).

Pontius has been married twice. His first marriage was to Claire Nolan, with whom he has two daughters, Lola and Daisy. His second marriage is to Melanie Marden, with whom he has a son, Phoenix.

Pontius has a net worth of $5 million. He earns a salary of $50 thousand per episode of Eastbound & Down. He has also earned significant earnings from his work on Jackass and Wildboyz.
