Brian Mannix is an Australian musician, actor and television presenter. He was the lead singer of 1980s pop rock band Uncanny X-Men.
Mannix was born in Melbourne, Australia, on 6 October 1963. His parents were both schoolteachers. He has two older sisters. Mannix was educated at Xavier College and the University of Melbourne, where he studied law.
Mannix began his career as a musician in the early 1980s. He was the lead singer of Uncanny X-Men, a pop rock band that achieved success in Australia and New Zealand. The band’s biggest hit was “Nobody’s Innocent”, which reached number one on the Australian charts in 1986.
After the break-up of Uncanny X-Men, Mannix pursued a solo career. He released two solo albums, Brian Mannix (1987) and Alive and Kicking (1989). He also appeared in the Australian film The Year My Voice Broke (1987) and the television series Prisoner (1988).
In the 1990s, Mannix began working as a television presenter. He hosted the children’s television show Totally Wild from 1992 to 1996. He also presented the game show The Price Is Right from 1995 to 1998.
Mannix has appeared in a number of stage musicals, including Grease (1998), Chicago (1999) and The Rocky Horror Show (2002). He has also appeared in the television series Home and Away (2003) and All Saints (2004).
Mannix has been married twice. His first marriage was to actress Jane Hall, with whom he has two children. His second marriage is to television presenter Jules Lund, with whom he has one child.
Mannix has an estimated net worth of $5 million.
