Bill Pidto is an American sports broadcaster who is currently employed as a studio host and commentator for the NHL Network. He has also worked as a play-by-play announcer and analyst for various networks and teams, including MSG Network, Fox Sports Net, and the New York Islanders.

Pidto was born in 1968 in Queens, New York. He grew up in a family of four, with two older sisters. His father was a high school teacher and his mother was a homemaker. Pidto began playing hockey at a young age and continued to play throughout his youth. He attended St. Francis Preparatory School, where he played on the varsity hockey team.

After graduating from high school, Pidto attended the University of Notre Dame on a hockey scholarship. He played four years of collegiate hockey, serving as team captain his senior year. He graduated from Notre Dame in 1990 with a degree in communications.

Pidto began his broadcasting career while still in college, working as a sports director for the campus radio station. After graduation, he worked as a reporter and anchor for WNDU-TV in South Bend, Indiana. He then moved to New York City, where he worked as a reporter and weekend sports anchor for WCBS-TV.

In 1995, Pidto joined MSG Network, where he served as a studio host and play-by-play announcer for various college and professional sports teams. He also worked as a reporter and fill-in anchor for SportsDesk, MSG’s nightly sports highlights show.

In 2002, Pidto joined Fox Sports Net, where he served as a studio host and play-by-play announcer for college football and basketball games. He also worked as a reporter and fill-in anchor for Fox Sports News, Fox’s national sports highlights show.

In 2006, Pidto joined the NHL Network, where he currently serves as a studio host and commentator. He has also served as a play-by-play announcer for various NHL teams, including the New York Islanders.

Pidto is married to his wife, Amy. They have two children together.
