Wendy Harmer is an Australian comedian, writer, radio and television presenter. She is best known for her work on The Comedy Company, Hey Hey It’s Saturday and The Morning Show.
Harmer was born in Sydney, Australia on December 17, 1961. Her parents were both school teachers. She has two older sisters. Harmer was educated at Sydney Girls High School and the University of Sydney, where she studied English and History.
Harmer began her career as a stand-up comedian in the early 1980s. She soon began appearing on television, including The Comedy Company and Hey Hey It’s Saturday. In 1992, she became a regular presenter on The Morning Show. She has also appeared on a number of other Australian television shows, including Spicks and Specks, The Glass House and Good News Week.
Harmer has written several books, including The Wendy Harmer Show (1997), I Feel Better All Over (2000) and Wendy Harmer’s Guide to Life (2004). She is also the editor of The Hoopla, an online magazine for women.
Harmer is married to Scott Mitchell, a television producer. They have two daughters.
