Steven “Steve” Stevens is an American rock guitarist and songwriter. He is best known for his work with Billy Idol, and has also played with Michael Jackson, Vince Neil, Ozzy Osbourne, and Atomic Playboys. Stevens was born in Brooklyn, New York, on May 5, 1959. His father was a jazz musician, and his mother was a singer. Stevens began playing guitar at the age of eight. He was influenced by Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, and the Rolling Stones.
He attended the High School of Music & Art in New York City. After graduating, he played in various bands, including the New York Dolls and the Kiss tribute band Black Diamond. In 1981, he joined Billy Idol’s band. Stevens played on Idol’s albums Billy Idol (1982), Rebel Yell (1983), Whiplash Smile (1986), Charmed Life (1990), and Cyberpunk (1993). He also appeared in Idol’s music videos “White Wedding” (1982), “Rebel Yell” (1983), “Eyes Without a Face” (1984), and “Cradle of Love” (1990).
In addition to his work with Billy Idol, Stevens has played with Michael Jackson, Vince Neil, Ozzy Osbourne, and Atomic Playboys. He has also released two solo albums, Atomic Playboys (1989) and Flamenco A Go-Go (1998). Stevens is married to actress Josie Bissett. They have two children. ..
