Stellan Skarsgård is a Swedish actor. He was born on 13 June 1951 in Gothenburg, Sweden, to Gudrun (née Larsson) and Jan Skarsgård. He has six siblings: Alexander, Gustaf, Sam, Bill, Eija and Valter Skarsgård. He attended high school at Västra Real in Stockholm and graduated in 1970. He studied at the Royal Dramatic Theatre School from 1971 to 1974.
Skarsgård’s first film role was in the 1974 film The Man Who Couldn’t Say No. He has since appeared in over 100 films and television series, including The Omen (1976), Breaking the Waves (1996), Good Will Hunting (1997), Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest (2006) and Mamma Mia! (2008). He has been nominated for four Guldbagge Awards, winning two.
Skarsgård has been married three times. His first marriage was to My Skarsgård from 1979 to 2007. They have six children: Alexander, Gustaf, Sam, Bill, Eija and Valter Skarsgård.
