Sergei Bobrovsky is a Russian professional ice hockey goaltender for the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was born on September 20, 1988, in Novokuznetsk, Soviet Union. His parents are Mikhail Bobrovsky and Lyudmila Bobrovskaya. He has two older sisters, Yelena and Anna. He began playing hockey at the age of five. He attended Metallurg Novokuznetsk hockey school. He was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the second round, 45th overall, of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.

He made his NHL debut with the Flyers during the 2010–11 season. He was traded to the Blue Jackets in 2012. He won the Vezina Trophy as the NHL’s best goaltender in 2013. He has represented Russia at several international tournaments. He won a gold medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics.

Bobrovsky signed a four-year, $29.7 million contract extension with the Blue Jackets in 2015. His annual salary is $7.425 million. He has earned over $32 million in his NHL career.

Bobrovsky is married to Olga Bobrovskaya. They have two daughters, Daria and Sofia.
