Robert Clark is an American businessman and entrepreneur. He is the co-founder of the online retail giant He was born on January 12, 1964, in Seattle, Washington. His parents are Jeff Bezos, a former vice president of D. E. Shaw & Co., and Jackie S. Bezos, a homemaker. He has three siblings: two brothers, Mark and Christopher, and a sister, Amanda. He attended River Oaks Elementary School in Houston, Texas. He then attended Miami Palmetto Senior High School in Miami, Florida. He graduated from Princeton University in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering and computer science.

After graduation, he worked on Wall Street for D. E. Shaw & Co., a financial firm. He then worked at Fitel, a telecommunications start-up, and Bankers Trust Company. In 1994, he quit his job at Bankers Trust to start in his garage with his wife, MacKenzie. was originally a online bookstore but later diversified to sell other items such as electronics, clothing, and home goods. It became a publicly traded company in 1997 and made Bezos a billionaire.
