Rena began her career as a model, appearing in magazines such as Playboy and Penthouse. She made her film debut in the 1985 film Stitches. She has since appeared in over 50 films and television shows. Some of her most notable roles include Nomi Malone in Showgirls, Vickie in Striptease, and Diane Selwyn in Mulholland Drive.
In addition to acting, Rena has also directed two short films, The Sperm Donor and The Third Date. She has also written and produced the film My Trip to the Dark Side.
