Peter Frampton is a British rock musician, singer, songwriter, producer, and guitarist. He was born in Beckenham, Kent, England, on April 22, 1950, and raised in Bromley. His parents were Owen Frampton, a professional musician, and Peggy Frampton, a former actress. He has two older sisters, Jane and Joanna. Frampton began playing guitar at the age of eight. He attended Bromley Technical High School, where he studied art and music. He left school at age 16 to pursue a career in music.

Frampton’s early musical influences included the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, and Jimi Hendrix. He began his career playing in bands such as the Preachers, the Herd, and Humble Pie. His first solo album, Wind of Change, was released in 1972. It was followed by Frampton’s Camel (1973), which featured the hit single “Show Me the Way.”
Frampton’s live album, Frampton Comes Alive!, was released in 1976 and became one of the best-selling live albums of all time. It featured the hits “Show Me the Way,” “Baby, I Love Your Way,” and “Do You Feel Like We Do.” Frampton’s follow-up album, I’m in You (1977), was less successful commercially but still contained the hit single “I’m in You.”
In the 1980s, Frampton’s career declined due to drug addiction and personal problems. He made a comeback in the late 1980s with the album When All the Pieces Fit (1989). He has since released several more albums, including Fingerprints (2006), Thank You Mr. Churchill (2010), and Hummingbird in a Box (2014).
Frampton has been married three times and has four children. His first marriage was to Mary Lovett, with whom he had two daughters, Jade and Sophie. His second marriage was to Tina Elfers, with whom he had a son, Julian. His third marriage is to Barbara Goldbach, with whom he has a son, Peter Jr.
Frampton is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and has been nominated for Grammy Awards. He has an estimated net worth of $30 million.
