Pamela Martin is a Canadian actress, model, and television personality. She is best known for her role as Diane Freeman on the television series Dynasty.
Martin was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, on October 3, 1953. Her parents are Bill and Peggy Martin. She has two sisters, Lynn and Laurie. Martin attended high school in Vancouver and then went on to study fashion design at the Vancouver Institute of Art and Design.
Martin began her career as a model, appearing in magazines such as Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar. She also appeared in commercials for products such as L’Oréal and Clairol. In 1981, she made her acting debut on the soap opera The Young and the Restless. She went on to appear in a number of television shows and movies, including the miniseries North and South and the film Wall Street.
In 1985, Martin was cast as Diane Jennings on the prime-time soap opera Dynasty. She played the role for two years before leaving the show. After Dynasty, Martin had guest roles on a number of television shows, including Magnum, P.I., The Love Boat, and Fantasy Island.
In recent years, Martin has appeared in a number of made-for-television movies. She has also done voice work for the animated series The Simpsons and Family Guy.
Martin has been married three times. Her first husband was actor Jameson Parker. The couple divorced in 1988. Her second husband was businessman Rick Rockwell. The couple divorced in 2002. Martin’s third husband is actor Kevin Bernhardt. The couple has been married since 2004.
Martin has two children from her first marriage, a son named Dylan and a daughter named Chloe.
