Michael Lindsay is an American actor, writer, and director. He is best known for his role as Dr. George O’Malley on the ABC medical drama Grey’s Anatomy.
Lindsay was born in Houston, Texas, on June 22, 1981. His parents are Mary (née Garber) and Joseph Lindsay. He has two older sisters, Melissa and Nicole. Lindsay’s father is of Irish descent and his mother is of Italian descent.
Lindsay graduated from the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston in 1999. He then attended Carnegie Mellon University, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2003.
Lindsay’s first acting role was in the 2004 film Spartan. He has also appeared in the films Herbie: Fully Loaded (2005), Invincible (2006), and Transformers (2007).
From 2005 to 2010, Lindsay played the role of Dr. George O’Malley on Grey’s Anatomy. He also directed two episodes of the show.
Lindsay’s other television credits include guest-starring roles on CSI: Miami, Cold Case, Without a Trace, and Ghost Whisperer.
In 2010, Lindsay co-founded the production company Blumhouse Productions with Jason Blum and Couper Samuelson. The company has produced the films Paranormal Activity (2007), The Purge (2013), and Get Out (2017).
Lindsay is married to actress Kate Norby. They have two sons together: Leo and Kit.
Lindsay is 6 feet 1 inch (1.85 m) tall and has brown hair and blue eyes.
