Marla Pennington is an American actress best known for her role as Tara Martin on the daytime soap opera All My Children.
Pennington was born on October 15, 1965 in Burbank, California, the daughter of an aerospace engineer and a housewife. She has two older sisters. Pennington began her acting career at the age of eight, when she appeared in a local production of The Wizard of Oz. She went on to appear in several commercials and guest-starring roles on television shows such as The Love Boat and Fantasy Island.
In 1985, Pennington landed the role of Tara Martin on All My Children. She played the role for four years, until the character was killed off in a car accident. After leaving All My Children, Pennington had guest-starring roles on shows such as L.A. Law and Matlock. In 1992, she starred in the short-lived sitcom Love & War.
In recent years, Pennington has appeared in the films The Last Word (2008) and The Way Way Back (2013). She has also guest-starred on episodes of Castle and Hot in Cleveland.
Pennington has been married twice. Her first marriage, to actor Kevin Kline, ended in divorce after four years. She has been married to actor Scott Baio since 2007. The couple has two daughters together.
