Marilyn Chambers was born on April 22, 1952 in Providence, Rhode Island. Her parents were both accountants. She has two older sisters. Chambers was educated at the prestigious Smith College, where she majored in English.

Chambers began her career as a model, appearing in magazines such as Playboy and Penthouse. She made her film debut in the 1971 cult classic, “The Owl and the Pussycat.” She went on to star in a number of exploitation films, including “The Last House on the Left” (1972) and “Cannibal Holocaust” (1980).

Chambers also appeared in mainstream films, such as “Rabbit Test” (1978) and “Tales from the Darkside: The Movie” (1990). In addition to her acting career, Chambers also worked as a real estate agent and a nightclub singer.

Chambers was married three times. Her first husband was Doug Chapin, with whom she had a daughter, McKenna. Chambers’ second husband was Chuck Traynor, who was also the ex-husband of Linda Lovelace. Chambers’ third husband was William Taylor, Jr., with whom she had two sons, William III and Dylan.

Chambers died of heart failure on April 12, 2009 at the age of 56.
