Lola Herrera is a Mexican actress and singer. She was born on December 10, 1936 in Mexico City, Mexico. Her parents are María Luisa Jiménez and Antonio Herrera. She has four siblings: Antonio, María Luisa, Carmen and Jorge. She studied acting at the National Autonomous University of Mexico and the Actors Studio in New York City.

Her career began in the early 1960s with supporting roles in Mexican films such as “El hombre de Río Malo” and “La mujer del otro”. In 1964, she starred in the film “El juez de la sierra”, which earned her a Silver Ariel Award for Best Actress. Herrera’s other notable film roles include “El ojo de vidrio” (1965), “La soldadera” (1968), “La generala” (1970), “La bandida” (1972) and “La mujer del diablo” (1973).

Herrera has also appeared in numerous telenovelas, such as “Los ricos también lloran” (1979), “Corazón salvaje” (1993) and “Amor real” (2003). In 2010, she won a TVyNovelas Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the telenovela “Rubí”.

Herrera has been married three times. Her first husband was Mexican actor Manuel Capetillo, with whom she had two sons: Manuel Capetillo Jr. and Antonio Capetillo. Her second husband was Mexican businessman Rafael Elizondo, with whom she had a daughter, María Elizondo. Her third husband is Mexican actor Sergio Sendel, with whom she has a son, Sergio Sendel Jr.
