Kevin McNally is an English actor, screenwriter, and director. He is best known for his role as Joshamee Gibbs in the Pirates of the Caribbean film series.

McNally was born in Bristol, England on October 27, 1956. His parents were both teachers. He has two older sisters. McNally was educated at Clifton College and the Central School of Speech and Drama.
McNally’s acting career began in the early 1980s with roles in television series such as The Professionals and Minder. He made his film debut in the 1983 film Octopussy. He has since appeared in over 60 films, including The Bounty (1984), The Phantom of the Opera (1989), The English Patient (1996), and Gosford Park (2001).
In 2003, McNally was cast as Joshamee Gibbs in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. He has reprised the role in all five subsequent films in the franchise.
McNally has been married to actress Phyllis Logan since 2011. The couple have two children together.
