Jennifer Jason Leigh is an American actress. She began her career on television, appearing in several anthology series during the 1970s, and made her film debut in the 1981 horror film Eyes of a Stranger. Leigh later had supporting roles in a number of films throughout the 1980s, including Fast Times at Ridgemont High and The Hitcher, before achieving greater prominence with her roles in the films Miami Blues and Last Exit to Brooklyn, for which she was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award.

Leigh was born on February 5, 1962, in Hollywood, California, the daughter of Vic Morrow and Barbara Turner. She has two sisters, Carrie Ann Morrow and actress Jamie Leigh Curtis. Leigh’s parents divorced when she was two years old and she was raised by her mother. She attended Palisades High School before dropping out at age 15.
Leigh’s first acting role was as a child on an episode of The Donna Reed Show. She made her film debut in the 1981 horror film Eyes of a Stranger.
