James MacDonald is a Canadian-American pastor and televangelist. He is the founder and senior pastor of Harvest Bible Chapel, a megachurch in the Chicago suburbs. He also hosts a daily radio program, “Walk in the Word,” which is syndicated on more than 500 radio stations across the United States.
MacDonald was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, on February 29, 1960. His parents were both pastors, and he has four siblings. He received his early education at a Christian school in Toronto.
After graduating from high school, MacDonald attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois. He then went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in pastoral studies from Trinity International University in Deerfield, Illinois.
MacDonald began his career as a youth pastor at a small church in Chicago. He then founded Harvest Bible Chapel in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, in 1988. The church has since grown to become one of the largest megachurches in the United States, with an average weekly attendance of over 10,000 people.
In addition to his work as a pastor, MacDonald is also a popular author and speaker. He has written over 30 books, including bestsellers such as “The God Who Speaks” and “When Life Is Hard.” He is also a regular guest on radio and television programs, such as “The 700 Club” and “The O’Reilly Factor.”
MacDonald has been married to his wife, Kathy, since 1982. They have three children together.
