Halliwell Hobbes was born on October 18, 1877 in London, England. His parents were William and Sarah Hobbes. He had two brothers and one sister. His early education was at Eton College and then at Balliol College, Oxford. He began his career as an actor, appearing in several Shakespearean plays.

He later became a stage manager and then a producer. He produced many successful plays, including “The Importance of Being Earnest” and “Pygmalion”. He also wrote several plays, including “The Man Who Came to Dinner”. In addition to his work in the theater, he also wrote several books, including “The Life and Times of William Shakespeare” and “The Life and Times of George Bernard Shaw”.

He was married twice and had two children. He died on March 1, 1962 in London, England.
