Fern Britton (born 17 July 1957) is an English television presenter, actress, author and journalist. She is best known for her work on daytime television, most notably on This Morning from 1999 until 2009.

Born in Ealing, west London, Britton was educated at St Benedict’s School, Ealing and then at the Thames Valley University (now the University of West London). She worked as a secretary before beginning her television career on the breakfast television programme TV-am in 1983. After a period working on various other programmes for ITV, she became the presenter of This Morning in 1999, a role she held until 2009.

During her time on This Morning, Britton became known for her on-screen chemistry with co-presenter Phillip Schofield. The pair went on to host a number of successful shows together, including Dancing on Ice and All Star Mr & Mrs.

In 2010, Britton left This Morning to focus on other projects. These have included writing books, hosting game shows and appearing in a number of stage productions. In 2012, she made a return to daytime television, co-presenting the ITV daytime programme Loose Women.

Britton has been married twice; firstly to Clive Jones (with whom she has two children) and secondly to Phil Vickery (with whom she has one child). She has also been open about her battle with depression and has been an advocate for mental health awareness.

In 2019, it was announced that Britton would be inducted into the Broadcasting Hall of Fame.

1I really admire my mum, Ruth. She raised me and my sister, Cherry, who is eight years older, on her own, on a very small budget. The amazing thing is, we never knew that times were hard.
2When I told my dad that I had got a job as a continuity announcer on Westward TV in Plymouth, he raised his eyebrow and said, 'You're too fat to be a Sue Lawley.' I wasn't upset. I was only a size 10.
3I was offered a year-long contract on the BBC's newly launched Breakfast Time (1983), which was presented by Selina Scott and Frank Bough. Selina was lovely, but at a lunch to meet the team, Frank whispered in my ear, 'Well, young lady, I wonder how long it will be before I'm having an affair with you?' After that, sharing a sofa with him was very awkward.
